The International Year of Plant Health is being celebrated in Australia in 2020
The theme of the year is ‘Protecting Plants, Protecting Life’ because plants impact our lives every day.
The IYPH2020 is being led globally by the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization – visit their site.
You are invited to get involved in the celebrations in Australia.
The closing ceremony for IYPH will be in Helsinki on 1 July 2021.
Greg Fraser of Plant Health Australia said this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of protecting plants from pests and diseases.
Minister for Agriculture Bridget McKenzie said the theme for the year underlined the need for everyone to understand and take seriously their role in protecting Australia’s biosecurity
