Plants are very important for sustainability and economic growth and once one understands the importance, working with plants will be a fruitful choice and a satisfying career.

How did you choose your job? Or did it choose you?

As a child my father who works as a captain in the merchant navy always told me about biosecurity and what it meant to countries, particularly Australia. This sparked my interest and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in this area.

How long have you worked in this industry?

I will be completing 2 years in a couple of months.

What does plant health mean to you?

Plant health to me is ensuring that the plants continue to thrive free from pests and diseases for the economic growth of a country as well as sustainability.

What are your greatest achievements in this role?

I enjoy each day at work, and I consider tackling challenges and resolving them as my achievement.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day involves working on achieving set objectives for the day.

What advice would you give anybody wanting to get into the industry?
